Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Aircraft Engineer B1 to join our client’s team, a leading player in the defence aviation sector. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of aircraft within a dynamic and regulated environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising technicians, certifying maintenance work, and upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Routine and Non-Routine Maintenance: Perform and certify both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including defect rectification, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Operate within the stringent guidelines set by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Military Aviation Authority (MAA), adhering to all Part 145 requirements.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Oversee and guide the performance of engineering staff, providing support and mentorship to enhance team capabilities.
  • Maintenance Record Management: Update and maintain accurate records using the company’s maintenance information software.
  • Operational Support: Contribute to the success of Affinity’s operations by providing engineering expertise as required.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and comply with the company’s Quality and Health & Safety procedures, ensuring a culture of safety across all activities.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • UK CAA Part 66 B1 Licence.
  • Proven experience working in a UK CAA Part 145 environment, with a deep understanding of applicable regulations.
  • Ability to obtain UK security clearance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong knowledge of Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Experience certifying maintenance in both line and base environments.
  • Demonstrated capability to build and leverage relationships across multi-site teams to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • UK CAA Part 66 License C Rating.
  • Type approval on Company aircraft.
  • Training in Human Factors, Safety Management Systems (SMS), EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems), and Fuel Tank Safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Power BI) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
